Future Conceptualism Paintings
Future Conceptualism is Paul Ygartua’s approach to reverse painting on transparent surfaces, including Plexiglas and drawing film. Outlined forms divide the image into areas of colour, creating a mosaic-like composition.
The process draws on a method comparable to cloisonné enamelling, in which boundaries separate individual areas of colour. This collection brings together figurative and other subjects interpreted through the technique, revealing a different relationship between line, colour and the painting surface.
